Defending (DEF): 'Pressure to Posses to Attack'
DEF1 Constant high-intensity pressing with hard-working players
  • With hard-working players
  • Constant high-intensity pressing is key to our game
  • The opponent in possession of the ball must always be under constant pressure
  • Move defensive lines forward, as necessary to maintain pressure on the opponent
DEF2 Direct counter-pressing in defensive transition
  • Press the opposition right after losing possession
  • Press as an organized unit as soon as we lose possession
  • The entire team hunts the ball and immediately wins it back from the attacker
DEF3 Positional discipline in defense
  • Players must have tactical positional discipline on defense
  • Allows us to constantly put pressure on the opponent, stop a quality attack and prevent opponents from scoring
